Welcome to WildingsLtd.com
For well over a century Wildings has been associated
with South Wales and in particular with Newport. It was established
in 1874 by Mr. Alfred Wilding. He originally set up as a Gentleman's
Hatter and Hosier catering for the prosperous new merchants in the
town at 154 Commercial Street. The business expanded into larger
premises firstly at the bottom of Stow Hill and then again in 1897
to 172-173 Commercial Street. By this time Wildings was trading
as a departmental style store. Wildings, now at 156 Commercial Street,
has succeeded in surviving and prospering over many years and this
is due in no small way to the high calibre of its employees and
its reputation for good service.
